چکیده
Materials and Methods: This retrospective study was conducted at Laser Vision Center, Model Town, Lahore. It comprised of 200 patients(400 eyes) that underwent PRK on Summit Apex Plus excimer laser from 20 Feb 2004 to 3 June 2005. All consecutive patients with complete relevant data were included in the study. Three months postoperatively, the uncorrected visual acuity and complications in each eye, were recorded. The overall result was designed, based upon the postlaser uncorrected vision, residual refractive error, quality of vision and complications.

Many studies have shown the effectiveness of photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) in correction of vision in low and moderate Myopia. To evaluate the results of 193-nm exeimer laser photorefractive keratectomy for highly Myopic eyes, we reviewed refractive outcome of 43 eyes of 30 patients. Most eyes were treated with 1-step operation, using a 6 mm optical zone. 43 eyes were treated for Myopia, wh...

Background : Posterior corneal elevation changes are keys to early diagnosis of corneal ectasia after keratorefractive surgery, so it is important to use an accurate method for measuring posterior corneal elevation. The purpose of this study is investigating posterior corneal elevation changes with Pentacam(HR) on patients underwent photorefractive keratectomy. Methods: In this clinical tri...
متن کاملEffects of optimized photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) operation on the asphericity and high-order aberration changes
Background: Optimized is a common and important method in which aberrations are created by the device and the surgeon, but high-grade aberrations are out of the surgeon's control and are induced by the device in the patient. The aim of this study was the evaluation of out-of-control high-order aberration changes before and after PRK surgery and these impact on vision outcome. Materials and meth...

PURPOSE To assess the outcomes of conductive keratoplasty (CK) for patients with complications related to LASIK or photorefractive keratectomy (PRK). DESIGN Retrospective, noncomparative, interventional case series. PARTICIPANTS Sixteen eyes of 15 patients were treated using CK after complications of initial LASIK or PRK surgeries. Five cases are described in detail. INTERVENTION Rehabili...
متن کاملPhotorefractive keratectomy for hyperopia after radial keratotomy.
BACKGROUND Progressive hyperopia is a common complication following radial keratotomy. METHODS Ten eyes of ten consecutive patients with hyperopia after radial keratotomy between +1.75 and +4.00 diopters (D) were treated with the hyperopia module of the Nidek Model EC-5000 excimer laser. The mean preoperative uncorrected visual acuity was 0.38 (20/60+). RESULTS After excimer laser photorefr...
متن کاملOutcomes of photorefractive keratectomy in patients with atypical topography
Background Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) is at risk of serious complications such as corneal ectasia, which can reduce corrected distance visual acuity. The rate of complications of PRK is higher in patients with atypical topography. Objective To determine the outcomes of photorefractive keratectomy in patients with atypical topography. Methods This cross-sectional study was done in 201...
